Good News

What We Mean When We Say Good News

The Gospel is a word that means “good news”. Everything One Church does is centered around sharing the Gospel.

Why Jesus Came

The good news is that God, out of His deep love for us, sent His Son Jesus Christ to rescue us from the power and penalty of sin. Though humanity was created for fellowship with God, our sin separates us from Him and one another, leaving us spiritually dead and unable to save ourselves. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life we could not live, and then willingly died on the cross in our place, taking the judgment our sins deserved. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving His victory over sin, death, and Satan, and opening the way for us to be forgiven and restored to right relationship with God.

How the Gospel Changes Us

This good news invites a response. God promises that anyone who repents, turning from sin, and believes in Jesus as Savior and Lord receives complete forgiveness, a new heart, the indwelling God’s Holy Spirit, and eternal life. Salvation is not earned by our good behaviors or religious effort; it is a free gift of grace received through faith. Through the gospel, God adopts us into His family, sets us on a new path of transformation, and sends us out to live for His glory, sharing with others the same grace and hope we have received.
