The Gospel Matters
More Than a Message. It’s a Movement!
We believe the gospel isn’t just a church word, it’s life-changing truth. Jesus came to bring hope to the hopeless, healing to the broken, and purpose to every story. That’s why the gospel is at the heart of everything we do.
Every church has a story and ours is all about Jesus, people, and a big vision for what could be. If you’re curious about how One Church got started and what we’re all about, we’d love to share it with you.
Steve Willis
Steve is the Senior Pastor of the One Church network and the primary teaching pastor at our Calvary campus (Near MTSU). He is passionate about developing authentic followers of Christ who develop authentic followers of Christ.
Over the last 30 years, Steve has helped plant seven congregations and shared the gospel with over a million people in more than 50 nations on six continents. He has authored or served as a contributing author on several books projects including the New York Times 2014 Christian Book of the Year, The Daniel Plan. He is committed to expositional teaching, developing faith communities, bringing justice to the oppressed, and overall leadership development.
Since coming to our church in 2020, Steve has led One Church to becoming one of the fastest growing churches in Tennessee and hopes to have planted seven congregations in Rutherford County by the end of 2030. Steve also teaches seminary classes through our partnership with Southeastern Seminary enabling students in Middle Tennessee to obtain both bachelors and masters degrees in ministry-related fields.
He holds a Masters of Theology from Dallas Seminary, a doctorate of Divinity from Alderson Broaddus University, and completed studies for a doctorate in Education and a PhD in Anthropology from Southern Seminary.
Steve married his college sweetheart, Deanna, and together they have 3 adult children, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law, and three grandchildren. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and traveling to hike beautiful trails throughout God’s creation.
Faith is a journey, not a finish line. No matter where you are right now, there’s a next step that can help you grow closer to Jesus and deeper in community. Whether it’s getting baptized, joining a group, serving on a team, or simply learning more about Jesus, we’d love to walk alongside you.
Everyone needs a circle. Groups are the place where church becomes family and strangers become friends. If you’re looking for your people, we’d love to help you find the right fit for your season and story.
